When I set and focus on only one single goal, a strange and unintuitive thing happens. I find myself occasionally making great progress but more often tend to accomplish little or nothing at all. You would think that having just one goal allows us to focus more and get it done, but it just doesn't seem to happen that way. I think this is because our natural tendency without any outside influence is to focus on one thing in life at a time and frankly, most of the time, we are just not focusing on our goal. With this in mind, LifeSpace offers a different approach on goal setting. We believe it is important get in the habit of setting and staying in action on multiple goals at the same time. The idea is that having multiple goals of all sizes and in all areas of life creates a more permanent sense of "goal awareness" in your life and puts your mind into an accomplishment mindset on a much more consistent basis.
So how do you setup and maintain multiple goals? We recommend that you use LifeSpace's dashboard to stay in action and in focus. The LifeSpace dashboard automatically loads when you log in and also loads any time you click on the LifeSpace logo.
The dashboard has all you need. We start by dreaming about what we want to accomplish. In the Dream It box, LifeSpace provides inspiring articles that will push you to think big. Next, we use the Plan It box to create goals using the LifeSpace template library or from scratch. Once we have our goal plans in place, we focus on the day-to-day actions inside the LifeSpace Do It box. This organizes your weekly actions in a way that helps you stay focused on and track across all of your goals in a single area. And finally we track the actions of our friends and partners using the Track It box.
So if you haven't tried LifeSpace yet, or already have one or two goals created, why not establish at least one or two goals in each of the 5 LifeSpace categories found on the left hand menu? You will discover that as you develop the habit of setting multiple goals and checking on even just a few of them on a regular basis, you will actually stay focused and obtain success in all areas of your life.
